Are there entrance exams required for MBBS abroad admissions?

When it comes to studying MBBS abroad, one of the most common questions students have is, Do I need to give any entrance exam? The good news is that, in most countries, there’s no separate entrance exam required to get admission to MBBS programs abroad.

Unlike in India, where NEET is mandatory for entry into medical colleges, many universities abroad admit students based on their 10+2 marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. You don’t need to appear for exams like AIIMS or JIPMER; your academic performance in school and your NEET qualification (for Indian students) are usually enough.

Some countries may ask for a short interview or basic assessment to check your understanding of science subjects or English proficiency, but it’s never as competitive or stressful as entrance exams back home. The main requirement remains, passing NEET (as per Indian Medical Council guidelines), so that your MBBS degree is valid in India when you return to practice.

I personally went through this process with Axis Institutes, and they made everything so simple. They guided me about which countries and universities don’t require entrance exams and helped with all the admission formalities. If you’re planning to study MBBS abroad and want a smooth, stress-free experience, I’d highly recommend Axis Institutes. They really make the whole journey easier and clearer from the start.
